State Museum Shimla
The state museum is located at Chora Maidan in Shimla. It is a most visited sightseeing place of Shimla.This museum has a collection of paintings, Monuments, and local handicraft. The state museum has also preserved damaged sculpture of Himachal Pradesh. Museum also has gallery devoted to Himachali brides wearing all of their local ornaments. State museum can be reached by road, it is on walkable distance from Mall road. Museum itself located in a very nice building of British time known as Intevram.
Himalayan Bird park is located by the side of State museum and Viceroy Lodge. However it is not very big but travelers can see many species of local birds here, Monal which is shy bird can also be seen here. Monal is also the state bird of Himachal Pradesh. Himalayan Bird Park is located adjacent to state guest house Peter Hoff. It takes 15 minutes of walk from Mall road.
Summer Hill Shimla
Summer Hill is one hill among the seven hills of Shimla city. Summer hill is 5 Kms away from Mall road and 3 Kms away from ISBT Shimla. It is beautiful to see the view of Shimla at night from Summer Hills. Summer Hill is famous for its calm environment and Himachal Pradesh University. Summer hill can be reached by road and also by toy train. It is an important station of Shimla on the historical point of view because Mahatma Gandhi was used to live here during their visits to Shimla at Manor Villa. Manor villa is now guest house owned by All India Institute of medical sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi.
Viceroy lodge or Indian Institute of Advance Studies is located on observatory hill just adjacent to Summer Hill. It is top ranked among all the prime attraction in Shimla. It was built in between the year of 1884 and 1888 as the residence of Viceroy of India when Shimla was the summer capital of India. Building has been designed very tastefully by British. It is on the top of observatory hill and just 4 Km away from the Mall road.
Chadwick fall at Shimla is located 3 Kilometers down from Shimla toward the village Neri. Chadwick fall is a prime attraction as a tourist spot of Shimla because water falls here from a height of 1586 meters.
Mall road Shimla has been made by British when Shimla was the summer capital of India. This tourist spot of Shimla always keeps on the top priority list to visit. Potter Hill is also one hill of Shimla. It is located on west side of Shimla and 7 Km away from Mall road and main bus stand. Potter hill is famous for camping and tenting huts. Leopard . Deer, common fox can be seen here. Potter Hill is located 1 Km away from Summer Hill. It is a great natural retreat for the people love nature.
